PAO Overview

PAO (Prisoners Aid Organization) is a registered NGO, operating in Tanzania with registration number ooNGO/R/3247.  Our mission is to help men and women replace the cycle of brokenness that landed them in prison. We advocate for justice reforms and activate grassroots networks to do the same.

We support prisons economic projects through eCommerce and assist wardens to bring restorative change to their services.

We care for prisoners’ families and help strengthen the bond between children and their parents who are behind bars.

We facilitate employment and income opportunities for criminal record holders because we believe every person has dignity and potential. We have partners from different ideological perspectives for income and education opportunities.

Chattorney

Chattorney is a Live Chat platform where Attorneys have volunteered to answer legal questions to families and associates of those facing trial, or those already in prison.

  1. Equal Access to Justice:  You have access to legal expert opinion on your case. This prevents discrimination based on wealth and promotes fairness in legal proceedings.
  2. Protecting Vulnerable Populations: Chattorney helps vulnerable populations such as low-income individuals, minorities, and persons with disabilities. It helps protect their rights and ensure they are not marginalized within the legal system.
  3. Upholding Human Rights: Chattorney gives you access to free online legal advice sessions to empower individuals to seek justice when their rights are violated, promoting a just and accountable society.
